We extracted honey over the weekend, since we were down to two jars in the shoppe. We had a little extra help…..a taste tester!
~Shine~
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us…. and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we’re liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

~Collections~
I love a collection! Truth….It’s a weakness my sister-in-law first pointed out to me. Looking through a group of pictures she can always pick out the one I’ll be drawn to. Whatever picture is of a gathering of similar items, that’s where my eye will go.
This collection is a work- in- progress. Vintage cameras, not all vintage cameras, just the ones that pop out, I can’t seem to resist these little cuties.
…..and my newest collection, in the beginning stages….china tea cups with feet..who knew they existed? Well, not me, at least not until a bridal shower last fall. That’s when I first got a glimpse of one of these sweeties, and now I have to admit, I’m quite taken with them. So the quest is on! I found the pink one on the right (which by the way is just like the one I first saw at the bridal shower) at a lovely shop near Palmyra, NY, called The Gingerbread House. And the other two are from this shop on etsy.
True confessions time ….although I really enjoy looking at these tea cups, I always, (and I do mean always, like every day) drink my tea from this mug…..
and I believe it was given to me by my loving sister who purchased it from Starbucks! Go figure!!!
” Shop Talk “
Amidst the cold winds of winter, many projects are underway. A chair painting process is midway, I’ve run out of the right color of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint which I buy here, so more on that in a later post. We’ve hit several auctions thus far, many little treasures to show for it. But, alas, when it’s in the single digits outside crocheting by the fire sounds the best.
I did snap a few pictures this morning in the store while getting ready for a couple customers. So take a peek…..
Garden Dreams…..
I know it’s just the beginning of January…… but the seed catalogs have been arriving in the mail and my thoughts are turning to dirt, or what I will plant in it this year anyway.
I was thinking of my garden the other day and a song popped in my head from my childhood, that I can’t stop singing. My grandmother, whose house we now live in, would play her piano and sing this song called, “I Come To The Garden Alone”. This has stayed such a strong memory that as I write this it’s as though her and her pink piano are still in this living room with me. So for those of you who don’t know this song, I went searching for it. I’ve found a slightly different rendition than my “Gram’s”, but nonetheless a good one. So enjoy some tunes while you browse some of my last year’s garden shots…..
